Review Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera
I was actually quite impressed by this nice offering from Canon. The Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR camera offers quite a few nice features that will appeal to somebody who is looking for an easy to use camera, but is also looking to break away from the traditional point and shoot models. This isn’t to say that the camera doesn’t have some small limitations, but most of those limitations probably wont affect most people. After comparing ease of use, features, and limitations I think that this camera certainly does fill a niche and should be put on your short list when you are considering your next camera purchase.

Canon EOS Rebel T3i Pros
The ability to select between still shots and video is certainly a plus in my book. While I don’t make many videos with my camera, it is handy to have it available, and is one less piece of equipment you will need to lug around.
The small size and flexibility of this unit will certainly appeal to travelers.
You can shoot those videos in high definition (HD) as well.
The LCD screen is similar to that of a camcorder, and makes shooting various shots a breeze.
While the kit lens does leave a little to be desired, teaming this camera up with a good quality lens produces amazing sharpness and quality.
This camera does an amazing job producing quality images in low light conditions. Of course, the normal tradeoff between ISO quality and shutter speed applies.
The Canon EOS Rebel T3i features a built in instructional guide to help out the new and experienced photographers alike.
It has a comparable price point to other cameras in its class.
This is a great camera for those looking to transition from the regular point and shoot type of camera, to a more series amateur setup.
The Canon EOS Rebel T3i is compatible with the complete line of EF lenses, including compact and lightweight EF-S lenses from ultra wide-angle to super telephoto.
Canon EOS Rebel T3i Cons
The kit lens that comes with the unit does not produce as crisp of a picture as in some other models. The image produced is of good quality, however it does lack some of the sharpness of other kit lenses. You will want to eventually purchase a better quality lens.
The camera does not support auto-focus while recording. You will need to set your focus before you start recording, which probably isn’t a problem for most people.
Movies are also limited to just 12 minutes. If you want a longer movie, you will need to take multiple short clips and stitch them together in software. This camera is not a camcorder replacement.
You will want to have a spare fully charged battery available for all day adventures, especially if you are shooting a lot of video.
Canon EOS Rebel T3i Final Thought
My final though on this camera is that it is a great unit, and will meet the needs of most of the people who are looking to purchase a nice, solid DSLR camera. It should certainly not be confused with a professional grade camera, but since it isn’t competing in that market it earns a solid recommendation from me.
